Wedding Colour Inspiration~ Red, White and Blue Wedding Colours

So this week, we shall concentrate on the red, white and blue colour palette. I always set off  my colour mood boards by consulting reputable interior design and fashion experts then translate it into how it could contribute to the overall styling of a wedding. The reasons why these colours work is simple: bold colours always stand out against a white backdrop.

As noted in my previous post, this palette can be quite eye catching, tastefully colourful yet regal at the same time. Think nautical, thing Great Britain, France and United States and even Australia and they all  seem to have these colours in common. I wonder why?
I love the way different patters of napkins in the same colour have been used. Experiment with  damask, tie die, stripes or polka dot napkins in the same colour
Instead of the napkins you can neatly arrange reception programmes and insert, the wedding cake recipe, or  an old family recipe unique to you or your partner's heritage or travelling adventures as a favour. Talk about authentic.

Inside pockets to hold recipes could work too
Love this idea! But as you do know by now, we love ribbons, laces and velvet.  I reckon blue or red velvet firmly held together with a beautiful vintage brooch  will look fab. Alternatively,  you can use white faux pearls instead of the brooch against either red or blue velvet. Why not  wrap a broad ribbon around the jar and finish off with an oversized bow? Imagine any of these centrepiece ideas on the above table arrangement! Arrange in varying heights. Austerity chic!

Scatter blue and red pearls on this cake for sheer contemporary touch. Bold colours always stand out against white

The cake has to be red velvet though. Or at least a tier!

Arrange these red velvet cuties via Hummingbird Bakery in differing heights for maximum display effect, surround them with blue cupcakes. At around £25 a tier even my budget savvy brides can afford to splash out!

Or this White Cigarette cake from Patisserie Valerie as seen in Jing and Bai's real wedding post here on AandRparty UK will do nicely! It doesn't break the bank either
