Hen Party Idea~ Pampering at an Arabian Hammam
Every now and again I get excited about a fantastic wedding idea . This time I am thinking non traditional and sophisticated hen party for a 30 something bride or a low key bride-to-be. An Arabian bath with the girls!!!! What a brilliant idea!
Every bride-to-be needs to feel extremely beautiful inside and out before and on her big day. Having an Arabian body polish is a holistic approach to internal and external cleansing. So I decided to do some research on spas with such offering in London and I was just amazed at the level of service one looks to benefit from Casablanca Spa.
Casablanca Spa at Edgware Rd or Seymour Street, London is owned by Tunisian born Helen Murphy who trained in beauty in Maryleborne and later worked at the prestigious Hammam Bourgiba in Tunisia. She has been in the industry since 1978 so with such high level experience, she can be trusted to deliver an integrated approach to Arabian health and beauty treatment. Hammam in Islamic architecture is a bath house either private or public. In Turkish or Moroccan tradition it is like a steam bath or sauna used for ritual cleansing or social gathering.
Brides-to-be can have a varied amount of treatment arranged for their hen do or can even drag the guys along to ensure they get a complementary healthy glow on the big day instead of the traditional booze up. With drinks and meze this could be a great start to the wedding celebrations.
Basically with the Hammam or bath, you firstly sit in a steam room and work up a sweat, your body is later given a vigorous scrub with a loofah and black soap, a 100% natural paste made of oil and crushed back olive to thoroughly exfoliate the skin. After a final rinse you are given a full body massage. At the end of it you emerge with perfect skin. I think this is a great idea. I recently went for a spa treatment/afternoon tea at the Langham Hotel in Regent Street, London for my birthday. It was a fantastic experience! Would be a great for a Bridal Shower/Hen party too.
